MARQUETTE–Wednesday afternoon, staff and faculty at Northern Michigan University met for the 2017 Fall Convocational.

President Fritz Erickson and Provost Dr. Kerri Schuiling led the gathering to introduce new staff, and to also recognize the accomplishments of distinguished faculty members. During the presentation, President Erickson also addressed new and ongoing projects for the university, notably, a new community space named “The Lodge,” and the artist renderings for the construction of the new University Center.

“We’re excited to get the school year going, and it’s so much fun to have the campus come back to life,” said NMU President, Fritz Erickson. “And with all the new facility issues, with all the new academic programs that are going on, with how campus is looking, it really is an exciting time.”

This year, NMU has seen an enrollment increase. Tomorrow is move in day for NMU students, and the President plans to come on out to help anyone who needs an extra hand.
