Eagle mine requests lease for mineral rights

CHAMPION–Eagle Mine has continued their commitment to exploration by requesting a lease of an additional 15,274 acres of Michigan’s mineral rights in Baraga, Houghton, Iron, and Marquette counties.

By leasing these lands, Eagle’s team would have the opportunity to evaluate the potential of a regional program. A 30 day public notice period has begun, followed by consideration from the state to determine if any restrictions will be put into place on surface developments.

You can find more information about the legal proceedings at michigan.gov/minerals.
