Downed power line leads to small brush fire

SAGOLA — A downed power line caused a small fire and power outage for people in the Sagola area Saturday afternoon.

Just before 3:00 p.m. Saturday, a power line splice near M-95 a mile south of town came apart and fell to the ground, causing the grass to catch fire near Johnson Lane.

The fire was put out by the Sagola Township Fire Department and other area firefighters.

Power was restored just after 4:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
