Murder suspect bound over to circuit court

MARQUETTE– A man who allegedly stabbed and killed a Gwinn woman was back in court Wednesday afternoon.

Darrell Gutzman, 51, of Marquette had his preliminary exam in Marquette County District court. Gutzman was arrested in December and is charged with open murder in the death of Robbin Lampinen, 53, after police found him using social media.

During the prelim, multiple witnesses were called to the stand by Marquette County Prosecutor Matt Wiese. One witness was Forsyth Township Police Chief Gordon Warchock who said that Gutzman admitted to the crime.

Chief Warchock said, “He admitted to killing Robbin Lampinen, he admitted that he stabbed her and he advised that he would admit it in a court of law and that’s what happened.”

Gutzman has been bound over to circuit court. He will be arraigned there on April 7th.
