ST. IGNACE — A woman was stabbed in the leg following an altercation.

The Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post responded to an address on 3 Mile Road in Hessel, shortly after midnight Monday morning for a report of a stabbing. It was found that two, 30-year old women had been in an altercation and one of them had been stabbed in the leg with a knife.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and transported to War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. The other woman was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder.

The suspect is currently lodged at the Mackinac County Jail.
