Snowmobile accident sends drag racer to the hospital

GREENLAND — A snowmobiler was injured Saturday after he was ejected from his sled during a race.

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Greenland Fairgrounds at 1:45 p.m. for a snowmobile accident. Cameron Lundry of Iron River was drag racing his snowmobile when his skis came off the ground.

Lundry lost control of his snowmobile and was ejected. The sled ran over Lundry’s legs and back before it came to a stop when he pulled the kill switch.

Lundry was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon for treatment of his injuries, where he was treated and later released.
