Gander Mountain files for bankruptcy

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Gander Mountain has voluntarily filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S Bankruptcy Code.

The company was established in 1960 and currently has about 7,000 employees. Gander Mountain President Jay Tibbets insured customers in a press release that business would continue as usual, despite the filing.

We reached out to Gander Mountain and they said they had no comment on if or when they are closing. A letter, embedded here to read, says stores are not closing.

Gander Mountain says filing bankruptcy is part of “restructuring”.
