‘Dentistry From The Heart’ to be held this Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — For nearly 70 years, three generations of the Fornetti family have served as dentists in Iron Mountain. As a thank you to the community where they live and work, the John Fornetti Dental Center is holding its annual ‘Dentistry From The Heart’ event this Saturday.

This will be the 11th straight year that the dental center has provided free dental care to the community. Anyone over 18 years of age can choose between one free extraction, filling or hygiene cleaning. The event runs from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Central Time and is on a first come, first serve basis.

“We have had people come literally the night before, set up tents and spend the night outdoors,” said Dr. John Fornetti of the John Fornetti Dental Center. “The people that come are good people. Often times they’re hardworking people. Maybe their employer doesn’t offer them dental insurance and sometimes they’re disabled. There’s all sorts of stories we hear and it’s just heartwarming to be able to help them,” he added.

Last year, the staff provided care to 111 people and performed $37,000 in services. The John Fornetti Dental Center is located at 100 S. Stephenson Avenue in Iron Mountain.
