Brewery closes its doors
ISHPEMING — A popular local brewery has closed its doors until further notice.
Cognition Brewing Company in Ishpeming is closed as of Thursday morning. ABC 10’s attempts to reach management/ownership about the decision have not yet been successful.
A comedy benefit show that was scheduled to take place Thursday night has been moved to Wawonowin Country Club. Here’s the statement that was posted on the Cognition Facebook Page:
“We will be closed until further notice. It has been extremely heartwarming to see all of the positive responses and offers of help, especially from our business community in regards to tonight’s fundraising show. We will post a new location for that event by noon today. We also appreciate the thoughts and efforts of those who took it upon themselves to shovel a path to our door yesterday.
Unfortunately, that only made things worse. If anyone else has thoughts of shoveling (we’ve had more offers), please do NOT shovel any of the impressive snow barrier that has been placed at our entry. All of our efforts are aimed at getting our brews back into your glasses and growlers. Please support other craft breweries while you wait and, from the bottom of our hearts…Thank You!”
