IRON RIVER — An Interim Police Chief has been named for the City of Iron River’s Police Department.
Iron River City Manager David Thayer announced today that Roy D’Antonio would assume duties of police chief for the city. The Watersmeet native has ten years of policing experience, including two stints with the Iron River Police Department. D’Antonio has been back with the department since 2015.
Thayer will continue to help manage the administrative side while D’Antonio focuses on the policing aspect. The search for a permanent replacement will commence this week. Thayer said he is hopeful he will find a replacement within the next four months.
