Deer check stations closing up for the season

UPPER PENINSULA — The first week of January will be the last chance Deer hunters are able to receive a cooperator patch.

According to the Department of Natural Resources tomorrow will be the last day check deer stations are open. The DNR has a total of fourteen check stations across the U.P. Some locations include Marquette, Shingleton, Gwinn, and Baraga. DNR officials urge hunters to call stations ahead of time.
