Police send warning about counterfeit $100 bills

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP– Some counterfeit $100 bills may be circulating in the area according to the Chocolay Township Police Department.

The bills are marked “for motion picture use only” and are only intended to be used as props. However, police say that they can easily be passed off as real money.

They easily pass the pen test and look extremely realistic. The bills are marked as props in the upper left hand corner, below the presidents portrait as well as in bold lettering to the right of the presidents face.

If you come across these bills, contact your local police department.
