Driver taken to hospital after rolling vehicle

NORWAY — One driver was taken to the hospital after a rollover accident in Norway Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Norway Police Department say the incident happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. on US-2 near the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Field Office. A 2016 Ford Fusion driven by a 46-year-old woman was stopped on the roadway attempting to make a left turn into a commercial driveway. A 2004 Toyota driven by a 51-year-old woman traveling in the outside westbound lane veered into the Ford, glancing off of it and subsequently rolling over.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital for treatment of apparent injuries. The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time. Police say she was cited for careless driving. The driver of the Ford was not injured in the accident.

Norway Police were assisted at the scene by the Norway Fire Department, North Alert Amublance, and Integrity EMS.
