UPDATE: Three people injured in two-vehicle accident

UPDATE — Friday, December 2nd, 2016 4:40 p.m. EDT

Three people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Friday morning in Marquette Township. The accident happened on US-41 near Northwoods Road just before 12:00 p.m.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, a Chrysler minivan driven by 59-year-old Cynthia Larson of Ishpeming, was trying to turn onto US-41 when she entered into the path of a westbound Subaru Outback. The driver of the Outback has been identified as 79-year-old Lucille Scotti of Marquette.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Larson, a passenger in her vehicle and Scotti were all taken to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of minor injuries.

Larson was found at fault for failing to yield the right of way for oncoming traffic.

MARQUETTE — A two-car accident left one car with extensive damage in Marquette Township.

Around 12:00 p.m. on Friday, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 41 near Lowe’s. A red Subaru was towed from the scene and a gold van was left with extensive damage to the front end.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Marquette Township Fire assisted on the scene. ABC 10’s Chelsea Birdsall is on the scene and will have more details as they become available.
