MARQUETTE — Traffic in Marquette near Northern Michigan University was congested a bit Monday night after a vehicle hit a pedestrian.

Just after 5:30 p.m., the Marquette City Police Department responded to the intersection of Wright Street and Tracy Avenue on a report of a personal injury accident. An officer on scene tells ABC 10 that the pedestrian, who is an NMU student, was walking north on Tracy Avenue towards Sugarloaf Avenue, when he was hit by a westbound Buick Enclave.

The pedestrian received minor injuries. He was treated and released at the scene.

The woman driving the vehicle was not ticketed.
