IRON MOUNTAIN– Many of those who served our country do not qualify for dental care and one Upper Peninsula is continuing an event to step up and help out.

The third annual ‘Dentistry For Our Vets’ event will be held this Friday at the John Fornetti Dental Center in Iron Mountain. From 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.. CST, veterans can come into the office for their choice of a free filling, extraction or cleaning.

Dr. Fornetti of the John Fornetti Dental Center said that the many veterans do not receive dental benefits for their service and they hope to provide the men and woman who served our country with dental care in honor of their service.

“Our veterans have done so much for us and it’s important that we give back to them. One of the things we’ve learned is that 91 percent for any kind of dental benefits,” said Dr John Fornetti of the John Fornetti Dental Center, “we feel it’s important to take it upon ourselves and we have a number of volunteers ready to go on Friday and we are going to be there for our veterans.”

Dental care is given on a first come first serve basis. Dentistry for vets is open to all vets, even if there not from Iron Mountain. If you’re a vet, all you need to bring is one form for credentials.
