NEGAUNEE — The Vista Theater in Negaunee has an exciting production coming up this week for some of the adult audiences.

The theater will be putting on the classic film and musical, Cabaret. The setting of this musical falls in the 1930’s of Berlin, where a Cabaret girl falls in love with an American writer. Although there are few characters in the overall production, it gives each of them the chance to demonstrate their exceptional acting skills.

“This was actually a very laid back show, it’s a small cast but we are all very amazing actors and we all bring sort of a different perspective to the stage and this is probably the most fun I’ve had in a show. We get to push the limits a lot and it’s just all around a lot of fun,” said Kit Kat Boy in Cabaret, Alec Vanhorn.

Rehearsals for the show began just over a month ago. Although this may seem a short amount of time for practice, the actors are confident and ready to impress the audience.

“If you’re looking for some great musical numbers and some great laughs, and you’re very comfortable seeing some risqué material, it’s definitely fun and worth coming and seeing it,” said Vanhorn.

Opening night for the show is on Thursday at 7:30 P.M. Cabaret can be seen at the Vista Theater from October 13th through the 15th along with an additional midnight showing next weekend.
