NEGAUNEE– Students at Negaunee High School got yet another opportunity to help out their community.

Feeding America West Michigan once again made a stop at Negaunee High School with a mobile food pantry. This time the pantry was hoping to distribute eighteen–thousand pounds of food to those in need, much of which was fresh fruits and vegetables. And among the volunteers were students from Negaunee High School, who stayed after school to help out.

One student, Trinity Laniar said, “It feels like your actually making a difference in the community and you can actually take part and just help people out”

Another student, Shaylee Menhenick said, “It really feels good because everyone in need in the community and it just feels awesome to know that you’re making a difference”

And another student Mitchell Labelle said, “It’s feels really food and this is like the third year I think we’ve been doing it.”

Funding for the food trucks have been provide by Negaunee High School Alumni. Feeding America West Michigan Estimates that it feeds approximately four hundred and ninety two thousand people each year.
