New member inducted into honorary wall of excellence
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Area Public Schools Education Foundation held a special ceremony inducting a new member into the A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence.
Anthony Retaskie was inducted this evening and was honored for being a distinguished alumni from the Marquette Senior High School. In order to be an honoree, a graduate from one of the Marquette Schools must have distinguished themselves in a chosen profession and demonstrated commitment to community service.
Retaskie has done just that through his hard work with the Upper Peninsula Construction Council.
“This is very prestigious and like I said it’s an honor to be on the wall with such esteemed company, it’s really great. I think one of the bigger reasons why they selected me, was I was able to give back in my professional career to the school district,” said A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence Inductee, Tony Retaskie.
When selecting someone for this induction, Tony was any easy decision.
“Well what we’re looking for is outstanding alumnus from our schools and it can be a variety of things, and in this case Tony has proven himself to be an excellent representative in the Upper Peninsula for the workforce. He is representing them daily, but he has also been recognized nationally and statewide for his outstanding accomplishments,” said Education Foundation Board Member, Robert Mercure.
