Renovated Walmart celebrates re-opening

ESCANABA– An Upper Peninsula Walmart is celebrating after spending some time working on the store

The Escanaba Walmart celebrated it’s grand re-opening this morning to show off their improvements. Some of the improvements include re-painting the store and upgrading their fixtures, bathrooms and registers. The store says it also improved costumer service with money services and Walmart pick up.In addition, the store now includes a pharmacy so shoppers can have prescriptions filled and receive immunizations.

Christine Bauer, a manager of the store said they were happy to be open and celebrate with their customers. “We’re excited to have the public come in and celebrate our grand opening with us,” Bauer said, adding that in celebration “we will be doing prizes and raffles throughout the day.”

Celebrations continued into the day including hot food samples from venders as well as cake from those who attended. The celebrations were marked with a flag rising ceremony by a Marine Corps color guard and the singing of the national anthem by a store employee.

In a statement the store says the renovations represent their commitment to their customers and investment into their stores.
