Blues Fest kicks off with free show

MARQUETTE — Summer may be coming to an end, but it seems festival season is at its peak. The Blues Fest’s thirteenth year opened with some sweet sounds.

Popular at this year’s festival – a market-center set-up with unique memorabilia available for purchase. And, of course, the ever-popular mobile food trucks placed in a perfect line.

With lawn chairs unfolded and blankets spread out, locals were relaxed as they took in the sights, sounds, and smells of tonight’s free show.

Weekend tickets are $30 a day for adults and $50 for a full weekend. The gates will open at noon both Saturday and Sunday.
