NORWAY — One U.P. county fair that has been around for more than a century is kicking off just in time for the holiday weekend.

The Dickinson County Fair officially begins Thursday and has something for people of all ages. This fair offers a wide selection of rides along with everyone’s favorite foods, such as funnel cakes and even deep fried Oreos.

Celebrating being more than one hundred years old, this fair knows a thing or two about having a good time.

“Monday we have our special, it’s Dollar Day,” said John Degenaer, president of the Dickinson County Fair. “We did it for our 100th anniversary and we continued it because it was so popular. Everyone is a dollar– admission, rides are all a dollar.”

The fair runs throughout the weekend and ends on Monday evening.
