FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — After two years as director of the Forsyth Township District Library, Pamela Withrow is stepping down from her post next month.

Withrow has accepted a job at a library in St. Louis. The move will also allow her to be closer to her family. Withrow came to the library at a critical juncture.

She helped the library to its new and current location and started several reading programs.

Withrow became emotional when asked about what she will miss the most about the library.

“The board and the staff have been tremendous. I would not be successful as a director without them,” said Withrow. “They gave me a lot of freedom to try new things and make decisions. The staff has made huge changes since we went into the new building and they’ve just rolled with it. They’ve been very accepting.”

The Forsyth Township Library will hold a meeting Friday to discuss Withrow’s departure.
