UPDATE — Thursday, August 25th, 2016 11:45 a.m. (EDT) — The trial of a Forsyth Township man accused of numerous counts of criminal sexual conduct will no longer be taking place.

“As to count one — criminal sexual conduct first degree — how do you plead? Guilty or not guilty?” asked Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi.

“Guilty, your honor,” said defendant Andrew Caron.

Caron, 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of child sexually abusive activity on Thursday morning in Marquette County Circuit Court. For the CSC charges, Caron faces a minimum of 25 years in prison up to a maximum life sentence for engaging in sexual contact with a victim under the age of 13.

The other two charges — which stemmed from Caron filming a naked underage victim engaged in sexually abusive activity multiple times — could net him up to twenty years behind bars. Caron’s plea agreement stipulates that his sentences on each count be served concurrently.

He originally faced 39 charges in total; the remainder of those will be dropped when he is sentenced on October 14th.
