MARQUETTE — The D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans is working to improve the life of its members, and it needs your help.

The facility is looking to the community for donations to assist the veterans currently living there.

The home is running low on clothing items that are typically distributed to veterans who have financial limitations. Donations in the form of gently used clothing, new clothing and shoes are needed to replenish the home’s haberdashery.

“It helps our veterans. Like I said, not everybody has the ability to pay for a new item. It helps stretch their limited funds,” said Ken Arseneau, the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Activity Director Ken Arseneau. “Needs do change from month to month as to what donations we get or what we may be short of.”

Along with the articles of clothing, personal hygiene products and white diabetic socks are needed as well. The home is also accepting donations in order to purchase more expensive items and fund special outings.
