Hot doggers 'relish' driving the Wienermobile in the U.P.

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Imagine driving down US–41 and seeing a giant hot dog in the lane next to you. That actually happened over the weekend to a number of Yoopers in several different cities.

The official Oscar Mayer Wienermobile made stops over the weekend in Escanaba, Marquette and Negaunee. The Wienermobile appeared at a Family Fun Day event at Super One Foods in Marquette Township.

‘Hot Doggers’ Jacelyn and John have spent the last two plus months driving the giant hot dog around the country. They say driving the Wienermobile for a living is something they really relish.

“I think it’s great to catch up with fans to be frank about it,” said Craft. “There are so many nice and genuine people. We’re really in the heart of America.”

“We will meet people who are six–years–old or have seen the Wienermobile throughout their life and they’re 60 to 70 years old,” said Stumm. “When the Wienermobile is in town, they literally think it’s Christmas.”

The two ‘Hot Doggers’ will spend a year driving the Wienermobile around the country, visiting people in as many as 25 different states.
