Vehicle fire stops traffic

ESCANABA — Earlier today, Escanaba Public Safety needed to work quickly to put out a vehicle fire in Wells Township. When they arrived at the scene, they found a tractor trailer loaded with garbage had caught on fire.

The fire was located, confined to the trailer, and quickly extinguished. So quickly that traffic was only stopped for 20 minutes while officers extinguished the blaze.

There were no injuries reported in the fire. Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Michigan State Police.
