Meth suspect sentenced to probation and suspended jail time

MARQUETTE — A Gwinn man arrested by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team earlier this year has been sentenced.

Joshua Richards, 30, was sentenced Friday morning in Marquette County Circuit Court. He received a year and a half probationary period and a year in jail with credit for 39 days served.

The balance of his jail sentence was suspended. Richards pleaded guilty to possession of pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of meth in June.

He was originally charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth when he was arrested in May.
