More information about the two deceased individuals found in Ishpeming has been released by police.

Officers from the Ishpeming Police Department say they were dispatched to the house on the 400 block of North Maple Street around 1:20 p.m. on a report of two people down and not breathing. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive 35-year-old man outside in the yard. A 24-year-old man was also found unresponsive in the living room.

CPR was administered to both men, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. Both men were declared dead at the scene.

Police say the 24-year-old was living at the house when the incident occurred. The other man was a Marquette resident. Police add that the incident appears to be drug related. The deaths remain under investigation, and no other information will be released at this time.

Ishpeming Police were assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and UP Health System EMS.


ISHPEMING — Police are investigating the deaths of two people earlier today in the City of Ishpeming.

Just after one p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a residence on the 400 block of North Maple Street. Ishpeming City Police Chief Dan Willey confirmed that the deceased individuals do not live at the residence.

ABC 10’s Melanie Palmer reports that one of the subjects appeared to be a man. The identities of the deceased have not been released. The investigation into the matter, including the cause of death for both individuals, is ongoing.
