A golf fundraiser for people who like to stay out late

WEST ISHPEMING– If you’re a golfer and a night owl, then you might want to check out the Greater Ishpeming Negaunee Chamber of Commerce’s summer fundraiser.

The chamber is hosting its first Cosmic Glow Golf event on August nineteenth. Glow Golf is an 18 hole, par 3 glow in the dark golf challenge held at Wawonowin Country Club.

The first nine holes will be during the day and followed by dinner. The final half of the course will be played after dark, but course will be illumined with glow sticks and other glowing decorations.

Ashley Geist of the chamber says they are very excited about this event.

“It’s something that I don’t know has been done in the area for quite some time, if ever.” Geist said, “It’s something we’ve had a lot of fun planning it and coming up with ideas.”

Early registration ends on August first. It costs $250 for a 4 person team or $65 for per person.

To register for the event go to the Greater Ishpeming Negaunee Chamber of Commerce’s website or stop by their office off of US-41 by Jim’s Jubilee Foods.
