MARQUETTE — Some new medical equipment is on its way to Marquette to assist emergency responders.

Electro cardiogram monitors were purchased and are set to be placed within the fire department buildings. These monitors help with recording electrical activity in the heart and can be used amongst critically ill individuals.

“By purchasing the machines, they’ll be able to work with other healthcare agencies such as the hospital, other police departments so this will enable it to function with the other organizations” said City of Marquette Mayor Dave Campana.

Three total monitors were purchased with a total cost of over one–hundred thousand dollars.
