Vehicles heavily damaged in early morning accident

ISHPEMING — Two people went to the hospital after an accident Friday morning in Ishpeming.

Around 8:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Greenwood and Washington Street for a two-vehicle accident.

The driver of a gray sedan was heading south on Greenwood when they ran a stop sign, striking an eastbound black SUV.

Two people in the SUV sought their own medical treatment. The driver of the sedan was not injured.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene.

The driver of the sedan was issued a citation for disregarding a stop sign.
