MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Police Department reports that the stop signal at Seventh St. at W. Washington St. is not functioning as of June 2nd.

The Marquette City Police reported that the traffic signal was damaged and is not functioning due to a lightning strike.

Stop signs have been placed at the intersection and it should be treated by motorist as four way stop intersection. Crews are currently working on the signal, but its possible it may be down for the next two days.

Motorists are reminded, in the event of a damaged or non functioning signal at a four way intersection, the intersection should be treated as a four way stop, even if stop signs have not been placed to assist in traffic control.
