ISHPEMING — Summer may have showed up fashionably late this year but finding good deals in rummage sales are far from over.

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce is organizing their annual town-wide rummage sale. Each year, the chamber distributes a list of yard sales happening the weekend of June 11 to bring more attention to local sales.

Anyone living in the Western part of the county, from the Negaunee Township line to end of Michigamme, can participate.

Registration to submit your sale to the rummage list is Friday, though some stragglers will be accepted through Monday. And it only costs $10 to sign-up.

“Everybody loves a good rummage sale in the summer time and so we thought ‘the chamber is really about promoting growth and quality of life up here in the west end’ and the weather is finally starting to get nice and this was just something that they came up with as a way to bring communities together, get out and about, meet your neighbors, meet your fellow community members,” said Assistant Director Ashley Geist.

Since its hard to attract anxious buyers to the isolated places around the county, participants are allowed to use the yard and parking lot outside the chamber.

The list is free of cost and will be released mid-next week. You can check out a list when it becomes available at the Chamber of Commerce as well as their website.
