UPDATE: 10:50 a.m. — April 6th, 2016 (EDT)

Police have released more information about a logging truck accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Just after 3:00 a.m., 20-year-old Skylar Schumacher of Baraga was driving a semi-truck loaded with logs when he lost control of the rig. The semi-truck left the roadway, spilling logs on US-41.

Schumacher was cited for careless driving. The spilled logs were moved off the highway and will be loaded onto another trailer later today.

No injuries were reported in the accident.


 

A logging truck accident left US–41 a mess early this morning.

Ishpeming Township Police report that just before 4:00 a.m., a logging truck spilled its contents on the highway in Ely Township. No injuries were reported.

The Negaunee post of the Michigan State Police report that the logs were cleared and the wrecker was on it’s way to pull the semi out of the ditch around 5:15 a.m.
