NEGAUNEE — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter are inviting members of the community to join them this Friday for a “Spayghetti” Dinner.

The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Aside from the food will be a 50/50 raffle, a door prize, and karaoke. All of the funds raised from the event will go to the spay and neuter fund at UPAWS; that helps provide financial assistance to pet owners who need help paying for those services.

“We can help you out,” said UPAWS Community Outreach Coordinator Ann Brownell, “it’s very important to help out with the pet overpopulation crisis, but also it is very good for your own personal pet. It prevents some cancers, it helps with better temperament, and just all around a good, healthy thing to do for your animal.”

The “Spayghetti” Dinner takes place at Red Rock Lanes and Banquet Center in Ishpeming on Friday from 6-9 .Karaoke and dancing will follow.

Tickets are just $10 for adults, and $5 for kids under 12. They can be purchased at the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter and Red Rock Lanes and Banquet Center in advance, or at the door on the day of the event.
