ESCANABA — An Escanaba man has been charged in the theft of two vehicles late last week.

Eighteen–year old Jeffrey Schultz has been arraigned on two counts of unlawful driving away of a vehicle and one count of malicious destruction of property over $1,000 and less than $20,000. Each of these charges carry a penalty of up to five years in prison.

Schultz was arrested Thursday after two vehicles stolen from an Escanaba business were recovered by police. Charges are being sought on two additional suspects in the case.

Schultz is scheduled to appear again in Delta County District Court for a preliminary exam on December 23rd.
