GREAT LAKES — An organization known for building community among girls announced a change in their upcoming fundraiser.

The Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes have decided to raise the price of their beloved cookies from $3.50 to $4 a box. This is the first increase in over seven years and is intended to offset increasing costs of running the program. The price of a box of Girl Scout Cookies is determined individually by each of the 112 councils in the U.S.

This year’s cookie program begins January 22nd and runs through April 3rd.
