BREITUNG TOWNSHIP — Police are investigating a crash that injured one on US-2 in Breitung Township Monday morning.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post say the accident happened around 10:00 a.m. near M-95 and Pine Mountain Road. A 34-year-old Norway woman lost control of her vehicle on US-2. It left the roadway, slid through a grass embankment, and struck a utility pole. Police say the woman’s car then reentered the roadway and turned onto Pine Mountain Road, colliding with a Dickinson County Road Commission vehicle and mobile caution light trailer before leaving the scene.

The woman was later located at River’s Bend Park. She was transported to the Dickinson County Hospital by Beacon Ambulance Service. No other injuries were reported, and police say alcohol use is not suspected in this case.

The driver’s name is not being released as the incident is still under investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the Iron Mountain Post at (906) 774-2122.
