Tech Football Climbs into Top 10

HOUGHTON, Mich. — The undefeated Michigan Tech football team continued its march up the rankings in the NCAA Division II polls to No. 9 according to D2Football.com and No. 12 according to the American Football Coaches Association.

The Huskies are coming off a 30-14 victory over Northwood last Saturday (Oct. 10) during Homecoming at Sherman Field. The Black and Gold are 5-0 halfway through their 2015 regular season schedule.

Tech moved up two spots in each poll from last week; it was No. 11 and No. 14 in the two respective polls.

The GLIAC continues to be one of the nation’s strongest conferences with four nationally-ranked teams: Ferris State (No. 3 D2Football.com/No. 4 AFCA), Michigan Tech (No. 9/12), Ashland (No. 11/8) and Grand Valley State (No. 19/18).

Michigan Tech plays all three of the other ranked GLIAC teams over the next four weeks of the season. First up is Grand Valley State this Saturday (Oct. 17) in Allendale, Mich. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
