Hunting group missing $14K in equipment, prizes

IRON MOUNTAIN — An organization that’s all about giving back has suffered a serious setback.

Buckmasters of Iron Mountain recently had $14,000 worth of merchandise stolen from a storage facility. Crossbows, compound bows, game cameras, youth prizes, and more were stolen between Thursday and Monday.

Buckmasters is set to have its annual fundraising banquet a week from today. The stolen items were supposed to be used to help raise money to take disabled children and wounded warriors on hunting trips.

The Iron Mountain Police Department is looking into the incident. Despite the recent theft, the Buckmasters Banquet will go on as scheduled a week from today, Oct. 6, at the Pine Grove Country Club.
