A Crystal Falls man arrested by members of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team was arraigned in Iron County District Court Friday morning.
Ethan Pipping, 26, was arraigned in Iron County Circuit Court. UPSET detectives arrested Pipping Thursday at a residence on 6th street in Crystal Falls. He’s due back in court for his preliminary exam Oct. 5.
CRYSTAL FALLS — A Crystal Falls man was arrested after an investigation into the manufacture of marijuana.
Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team detectives say they obtained a search warrant Thursday for a home on 6th Street in Crystal Falls. The search resulted in the seizure of over 100 marijuana plants, more than five pounds of processed marijuana, and illegal firearms.
The 26-year-old suspect was arrested on firearms charges. He is lodged at the Iron County Jail, and detectives say additional drug charges are pending. Federal charges are also expected.
UPSET detectives were assisted by the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, the Crystal Falls Police Department, and agents from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
