MENOMINEE COUNTY — A South Carolina man is dead after police say he rolled his pickup truck into a ditch early Sunday morning.

Just after 1:00 a.m., the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle accident on US-41 in Nadeau Township. The driver of a northbound pickup truck appeared to have crossed both lanes of the highway, before losing control and rolling his vehicle into a ditch.

The driver, 20-year-old Jordan Baker of Whitmire, S.C., was ejected from the truck. He died at the scene. Police say that Baker was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is also believed to be a factor in the accident.

The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash, along with accident investigators from the Michigan State Police, Gladstone Post.
