MSP mourns after losing a trooper in fatal accident
LANSING — The Michigan State Police were mourning the loss of one of their own Friday evening.
Trooper Chad Wolf passed away after sustaining injuries during a traffic accident this morning. At around 6:30 A.M., Wolf was patrolling on his motorcycle on northbound Dixie Highway when a passenger vehicle towing a trailer collided with the motorcycle.
According to MSP, Wolf was dragged behind the trailer on I–75 for several miles before the driver pulled into a rest area. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
Wolf, 38, enlisted with the Michigan State Police in 2008 and had been a member of the motor unit since 2013. He is survived by a wife and four children.
