Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme – It’s Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the historic Vista Theater in downtown Negaunee.

Some people describe the theater as being magical, but for this production it’s more like enchanted.

Not just the story either, but also the cast and crew, who sometimes pull double duty performing and working behind the scenes.

Cast and Crew member, Heidi Fry says, “So I’ve been sewing, we’ve been fitting people, we’ve been creating costumes out of thin air – especially the enchanted objects. I have to give a huge kudos to our props crew, because they have done a lot of work on those.”

The show includes tunes from the movie and of course favorite characters. Like one motherly figure…

“Mrs. Potts, deary,” says Leslie Sollid, in character.

The production is a family affair for many of the cast and crew.

“I’m excited for my family to see this,” Sollid added, “and I’m also excited for my girls to be in the show, and for them to experience a live audience.”

The show opens tomorrow night and runs through August 23rd. Tickets can be purchased at the Vista Theater Thrift Shop in Negaunee, Rare Earth Goods in Ishpeming and Snowbound Books in Marquette.
