Man who shut down M-35 for an hour recieves sentence

ESCANABA — An Escanaba man who was arrested after an accident that shut down M–35 received his sentence today in Delta County Circuit Court.

Ryan Lucier, 20, was sentenced to six months in jail, with credit for 93 days served. He’ll also have to pay a total of two hundred and forty eight dollars in costs and fines. Lucier pleaded guilty in June to one count of possession of meth and one count of driving with a suspended license.

Lucier was arrested in April after hitting a utility pole on M–35. The pole broke and spilled electrical lines on the roadway, forcing officers to close the highway for about an hour.
