Sixteen drug arrests made in Eastern U.P.
SAULT STE. MARIE — Multiple drug investigations within Chippewa County have resulted in the arrest of sixteen suspects over the past several days.
The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce (Tri-Dent) reports that the suspects were arrested on felony warrants covering multiple drug offenses, including 23 charges related to the delivery of morphine. Charges for delivery of suboxone, oxycodone, and other drugs were also among those listed. One subject was arrested for harboring a fugitive, obstructing justice, and resisting arrest, and five of the suspects were charged as habitual offenders.
Tri-Dent stressed their commitment to stopping those who decide to sell drugs in the Chippewa County Community, and they expect more arrests in the near future. Anyone with information about drug activities in the area are invited to leave a tip with Tri-Dent at (906) 630-0249.
