Man involved in choking girlfriend sentenced

MARQUETTE — A Gwinn man involved in assaulting and choking his girlfriend was sentenced in Marquette County District Court this afternoon.

29 year old Brandon Strohm will pay just over $1,600 in costs and fees. He will be under probation for one year with one hundred and eighty days deferred.

Strohm will need to complete his counseling at Great Lakes Recover Centers as well. He was originally charged with a ten–year felony. Strohm was arrested for the choking incident by the Forsyth Township Police Department on April 2nd.
