ESCANABA — A U.P. Brewery that opened its doors earlier this year is now in the process of expanding its operation.

Upper Hand Brewery in Escanaba plans to add 5,400 square feet of space to its current facility. The additional space will allow the brewery to increase its annual capacity from 5,000 barrels to 15,000 thousand barrels.

Upper Hand Brewery officially opened for business just six months ago. The brewery is a division of Bell’s Brewery.

Construction for the addition is expected to begin in July.
