Man arrested for outstanding warrants and drugs after home invasion

MARQUETTE — One man was arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of a possible home invasion in Marquette late Wednesday afternoon.

Officers from the Marquette City Police Department say they were dispatched to the area of Freedom Drive shortly after 4:00 p.m. in reference to the home invasion. Witnesses told police that the suspect had left the scene in an older, rusty Ford Explorer driven by a female. Officers stopped the vehicle after locating it in the area of McClellan Avenue and Grove Street.

Police took the passenger, a 33-year-old Marquette man, into custody on outstanding warrants and prescription drug possession. He was lodged at the Marquette County Jail. Police say home invasion charges are also being sought. The driver of the Explorer was released.
